An Garden Plain woman remains in serious condition at a local hospital following a two-vehicle collision in western Sedgwick County on Monday.

Irene Dold, 80, exited westbound Kellogg at 295th Street West near Garden Plain shortly after 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Lt. David Mattingly said. She did not stop at the stop sign next to 295th, and her Cadillac was struck by a Lincoln Navigator traveling north.

The impact caused the Cadillac to careen down an embankment north of the intersection, Mattingly said. Dold was transported by medical helicopter to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis.

The 17-year-old driver of the SUV was not seriously injured, Mattingly said.
