WICHITA — It's later than planned, but Party Zone Supply Store is still opening at the new Moonridge Plaza center near 29th and Tyler.

Imran Manzoor, whose parents own the center, says he hoped to open the store before Easter, but he decided to expand it first.

"We just needed more room," he says.

Initially, he'd planned a 3,000-square-foot store but now is going to open in more than 4,000 square feet to have extra room for year-round costumes. Originally, the store was going to sell them around Halloween only.

Manzoor says it made sense to do the extra construction before attempting to open the store, which he hopes will be in three or four weeks.

"We're going to try to give everybody what they need," he says. "It's going to be (a) learning process for us."

Manzoor says he knows he can't carry everything, but he says, "The more feedback we get from people ... it will change quite a bit from this year to next year."
