The robust winds aren’t quite ready to release Wichita just yet.

Gusts out of the northwest will approach 30 miles an hour on a sunny day with highs in the 60s, forecasters say. Steady breezes will be in the teens, which will seem like a teasing wisp compared to the last several days.

It’ll be chilly again in Wichita overnight, with lows sliding into the upper 30s. Winds will continue to gradually ebb, forecasters say, with gusts only nudging the 20s and steady breezes falling to the single digits at times.

Friday looks like a pleasant day in the region, forecasters say, with highs in the mid-70s and light west winds under sunny skies. The weekend will see more sunshine and highs surging into the upper 80s to low 90s.
