It could be a wet morning commute in the Wichita area Thursday as overnight showers draw to a close, forecasters say.

Skies will gradually clear throughout the day, when highs are projected to climb into the mid-70s. Northerly winds in the teens will occasionally top 30 miles an hour in gusts.

Overnight lows under partly cloudy skies will settle in the upper 40s. Friday will be warm, with highs in the 80s under partly cloudy skies. Winds will be out of the south, intensifying from the single digits to the 20s, with gusts again topping 30 miles an hour.

Chances for showers and thunderstorms arrive Saturday and linger for the next several days in the Wichita area.
