Sarah Clawson

Nurse practitioner, Center for Women’s Health

Sarah Clawson isn’t sure where her interest in women’s health care came from, only that she can’t remember a time when it wasn’t there.

“Nobody in my family was involved” in health care, she said. “I’ve always had a passion for women’s health.”

Clawson, 31, grew up in Sedgwick, earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Bethel College and then a master’s degree in nursing through the University of Cincinnati.

She worked with patients in labor and delivery for four years at Wesley Medical Center while earning the advanced degree, then spent two years with Planned Parenthood, focusing on well-women exams and family planning.

At the Center for Women’s Health, she’ll see patients for their obstetrical and gynecological needs.

“It’s broadened the scope of what I can do for my patients,” said Clawson, who started at the center this month. “This is my dream job. I just finally got it.”

Clawson’s husband, Aaron, is a family medicine resident at Wesley. They enjoy spending time with their family, especially their nieces and nephews.
