Sedgwick County Jail and work release facility inmates will pay less for collect calls under a new contract announced Wednesday.

A 20-minute call from an inmate will cost $3.50, compared with $4.05 under the old contract, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The new contract, starting April 30, is with Securus Technologies Inc.

Calls will continue to be recorded and monitored, and any telephone number blocked from receiving calls will continue to be restricted, the office said.
