An attempted traffic stop for playing music too loud led to a brief police chase and the driver landing in jail Thursday morning facing 14 allegations.

The incident began about 10 p.m. Wednesday when a Wichita police tried to stop a 30-year-old man for the loud music while he was driving near Douglas and west of Seneca, Lt. Dan East said.

The driver attempted to flee but struck a curb with his vehicle. He continued to drive for a short distance before jumping out of the vehicle and running on foot, East said.

Police pursued, arresting the man in the 200 block of South Millwood and Burton, between Maple and Douglas, East said.

The man was booked into Sedgwick County Jail shortly before 3 a.m., according to the jail log. Allegations include possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and multiple traffic violations, the log said.
