A 51-year-old man was booked into jail on suspicion of attempted murder after another man was found in a south Wichita motel Monday afternoon with severe lacerations to his head and neck, police said.

A witness heard the man yelling for help at the Sunset Motel, 2338 S. Broadway, shortly before 4 p.m. Monday, Lt. Steve Kenney said. Officers called for EMS when a large amount of blood was found on a motel bed.

A 47-year-old man was found with severe lacerations to the head and neck, Kenney said. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspect was found by officers and booked into the Sedgwick County Jail following questioning.
