The winds will ease a little in the Wichita area Thursday, forecasters say, but the sunshine and 70s will be back for an encore.

Winds will shift from the south to the north by afternoon, with gusts still topping 30 miles an hour at times. Steady breezes will be in the upper teens to low 20s.

Lows will only slip to the upper 40s under clear skies, forecasters say, with winds shifting again – this time to the east – and easing to the single digits.

Friday is shaping up to be a delightful day in the region, with highs in the upper 70s and winds remaining light under sunny skies.
