Screwdriver-wielding man breaks in, takes money and computer

A robber threatened a boy with a screwdriver before taking money and a computer from a residence in north Wichita on Tuesday, police said.

A 14-year-old boy told police a man broke in through a rear sliding glass door at about 2 p.m. on Tuesday in the 3300 block of North Oliver, Lt. Dan East said. He ordered the boy to the floor, threatening him with the screwdriver, before taking the money and computer and running southwest.

The suspect is a white man between 30 and 50 who is 5-feet-10 and 160 pounds, the victim told police. He wore blue jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt, a blue shirt and neon shoes.
