Being smart about money is the focus of the Financial Freedom Expo on Saturday.

Scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the planned Urban Preparatory Academy, 2821 E. 24th St. North, the event features financial partners from across the city. It is being held in conjunction with National Financial Literacy Month.

The expo will have several 45-minute workshops, along with private and public vendors and lots of freebies, organizers said in a news release.

Attendees will get a free copy of their credit report, and can spend 15 minutes with a representative of the Wichita Financial Planners Association. The city of Wichita will discuss home improvements programs and city court officials will be there to confirm outstanding fines and make payment arrangements.
