An armed robber made off with an undetermined amount of cash early Saturday evening from the Presto convenience store at 4400 W. Maple, near Towne West Square.

Shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday, a tall, thin black male in his 40s wearing a dark hoodie sweatshirt and gray shorts entered the store and demanded money, brandishing a semi-automatic handgun, Wichita police Sgt. Ed Brower said.

At the same time, a customer walked into the store, Brower said, and was confronted by the robber, who ordered the customer to lie on the floor.

The robber fled the store with the cash as one of the people inside ran to call police, Brower said. There were no injuries. Police reports didn’t say how much cash was taken.
