A man who tried to cover his face with a backpack robbed a Presto station Thursday night near Rock Road and Harry, police said.

A clerk told police the man entered the station in the 1200 block of South Rock Road about 11: 30 p.m. with his face partially obscured by the backpack, then pointed a handgun at him and demanded money, said Lt. Dan East.

The suspect left on foot with a small amount of cash.

The clerk described the suspect as a black man in his 30s, about 6 feet tall, 250 pounds, wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, black pants and white shoes.

East said anyone with information about the crime may call detectives at 268-4177, or Crime Stoppers at 267-2111.
