Prices for single-family homes in the Wichita area were up 2.3 percent in February compared to February 2013, according to real estate analysis firm CoreLogic

After excluding distressed properties, such as short sales, local home prices were up 3.6 percent over the year.

But Wichita’s appreciation rates lagged the state and nation. Prices were up 4.9 percent in Kansas and 12.2 percent nationally over the year for single-family home prices in February.
