WSU index of economic indicators steady in January

Wichita State University’s index of leading indicators, which seeks to measure the economy’s trends six months out, was basically flat in January compared to December.

Although about flat with the previous month, the index is at one of the highest levels since 2008 and was 1.4 percentage points higher than January 2013.

The index of current indicators for January, which seeks to measure present conditions, was up 1.3 percentage points from January 2013.
