A car chase that started in the 700 block of South Broadway on Friday afternoon ended when a man crashed his car into a house, said Wichita police Sgt. John Hoofer.

Hoofer said police stopped a man in his 40s driving a white Pontiac Aztec for a traffic violation, but he fled, driving south on Topeka. Officers ended the high-speed chase when they determined it had become unsafe.

Police later found the car at Water and Mt. Vernon, where it had lost control and crashed into a home before rolling over. The suspect was found in the area and booked on suspicion of drug and traffic charges, Hoofer said.
