McPherson police on Friday released the identity of the man whose body was found earlier this week.

An autopsy revealed Ernest Charles Miller, 26, of McPherson died of asphyxiation and blunt force trauma, Police Chief Robert McClarty said in a prepared statement. The manner of death remains unclear, he said, pending toxicology tests of the blood.

Miller’s body was found Thursday in the 400 block of West Woodside in McPherson, police have said. The autopsy was conducted at the Regional Forensic Science Center in Wichita.
