KC area no longer under tornado watch as storms move through

A tornado watch was lifted for the Kansas City area after a round of strong thunderstorms swept through Thursday afternoon.

As the round of storms moved across the Kansas City area, they were accompanied by strong winds.

Large hail fell in some parts of the area, including in Blue Springs, Lee’s Summit, Leawood, Overland Park, near Independence and near Raytown.
