Singing Quakers perform at Friends University

Singing Quakers at Friends

Friends University choral group the Singing Quakers will sing folk, gospel and traditional songs at its annual Home Concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Both performances will be in Sebits Auditorium in the Riney Fine Arts Center. Tickets are $16 for adults and $13 for seniors and students. Tickets can be purchased on the Friends University website http://www.friends.edu/finearts or by calling 316-295-5677.

Pastel National show at Center for the Arts

The Pastel National 2014 exhibition will be at Wichita Center for the Arts, 9112 E. Central, starting Friday, with an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibit focuses on the art of pastel on paper. The event is free and open to the public. The exhibition will be on display through May 11, during regular gallery hours (1-5 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday). For more information, call 316-634-2787.

RJD2 revisited

The postponed RJD2 hip-hop show is scheduled to take place at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Crown Uptown Theatre, 3207 E. Douglas. Tickets for the 18-and-older show are $20-$25 ($100 VIP) and can be purchased at www.ticketleap.com. RJD2’s song “A Beautiful Mine” is the theme for TV’s “Mad Men,” and his songs have been featured in several commercials.
