Kansas Highway Patrol officer injured in turnpike accident

A Kansas Highway Patrol officer was critically injured Tuesday night in an accident on the Kansas Turnpike.

The accident, near East Kellogg, was called in at 7:08 p.m., according to a Sedgwick County 911 dispatcher.

The Kansas Turnpike Authority advised motorists to use caution because one of the northbound lanes was blocked on I-35 near mile marker 50.
