Two children were placed in protective custody by police Monday night after they reported being beaten with a belt, according to a police document.

A 14-year-old girl reported shortly after 9 p.m. Monday that her mother and her mother’s boyfriend had used a knife to cut her clothes off, a police report said. She also said she had been beaten with a belt.

Bruises were noted on her arm and buttocks. The girl’s 5-year-old sister also reported being struck with a belt, according to the report.

No arrests have been made, though the case remains under investigation. The report did not indicate where the alleged abuse took place. Investigators with the Exploited and Missing Child Unit could not be reached for comment.
