Simmons First parent to acquire Little Rock bank and trust company

The Arkansas holding company of Simmons First National Bank plans to acquire a company with a $431 million bank in Little Rock.

Simmons First National Corp. said it has entered into an agreement to acquire Delta Trust & Banking Corp. and its Delta Trust & Bank, which is based in Little Rock and operates nine offices.

Simmons First National said the deal, expected to close in the third quarter, is valued at $66 million.

The acquisition also includes Delta’s trust and broker-dealer operations. Delta has trust assets of $813 million, Simmons First National said in a news release.

The Pine Bluff -based bank holding company operates two Simmons First National Bank branches in Wichita.
