Police said a woman and two children were shot Monday night in west Wichita.

The shooting, in the 300 block of North Parkdale, was reported to emergency dispatchers about 9 p.m. The victims were taken to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis in serious condition, authorities said. Parkdale is just west of Maize between Maple and Central.

Police were walking the neighborhood with dogs late Monday night, searching for the shooting suspect. Police said he knew the woman who was shot.

Police said all three victims were shot multiple times. Authorities said the shootings stemmed from an apparent domestic violence situation.

Police were talking with the woman at Via Christi on Monday night in an attempt to gather more information.
