Shocker pitching dominated Missouri State for 18 innings, giving up one run in two victories, before falling 4-3 on Sunday at Eck Stadium. Nebraska lost two of three games at Iowa over the weekend to begin the Big Ten Conference schedule.
Left-hander Kris Gardner (1-1, 8.10 ERA) is scheduled to start for Wichita State. He took the loss in his last start, pitching 1 1/3 innings with three hits and three runs, walking three, last Tuesday at Arizona State.
Nebraska (13-9) will start left-hander Kyle Kubat (0-1, 6.15), a junior who gave up a run in four innings of his lart start against Creighton.
Wichita State hits the road on Wednesday for a 6:30 p.m. makeup game at Oral Roberts, then plays host to No. 9 Cal State Fullerton (13-8) for three games beginning Friday.
