Families eligible for free pre-kindergarten at Wichita schools may enroll now.

To qualify, children must turn 4 by Aug. 31 and meet at least one qualifying factor: eligible for free lunch; single-parent family, limited English proficiency; either parent lacks a high school diploma or GED; teen parent; at-risk for developmental delays; migrant status; or referral from the Kansas Department for Children and Families.

Children must be transported to and from school, attend regularly, and the family must complete a meal program form.

Parent begin the enrollment process by completing an interest form either on paper or electronically on the Wichita school district’s website. Both forms are at www.ec.usd259.org. For more information, call your neighborhood school or the district’s early childhood office at 316-973-4708.
