A girl he knew wanted to get together and talk late Wednesday night, so the 20-year-old man borrowed a car and drove to a parking lot on 18th Street in northeast Wichita.

While the man and the 16-year-old girl were talking in his car, Lt. Dan East said, the man noticed someone approaching the car and carrying a gun. The intruder tried to get into the car, so the driver jumped out and began fighting with him.

While they were fighting, the teen girl and another man began kicking the victim. He was able to disengage and ran to safety, East said, while the two men and the girl drove off in the borrowed 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix.

The victim suffered minor injuries to his face, nose and hands, East said.
