Excavator stolen in south Wichita

Someone stole an excavator in south Wichita earlier this week, and now police want the public’s help to solve the caper.

The 2000 Bobcat excavator, Model 430, was stolen sometime Wednesday night or early Thursday morning from the 1100 block of West 31st Street South, Lt. Dan East said. That’s near Seneca and 31st Street South.

The stolen Bobcat is worth $30,000, East said. Anyone who has information about the theft or those responsible is encouraged to contact detectives at 316-268-4136 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111. Tips can also be made anonymously by going online at www.WichitaCrimeStoppers.com or using a cellular phone by texting TIP217 then the message to CRIMES (274637).
