One downside to driving with your windows open on a warm, sunny day is someone might throw a full bottle of beer in your car.

That’s what happened to a woman stopped at a northeast Wichita intersection shortly before 11:30 a.m. Monday in the 6400 block of East 34th Street, Lt. Dan East said. That’s just north of K-96 next to Woodlawn.

The woman said a man in a gold Cadillac stopped next to her at a traffic light threw the bottle of beer through her open passenger window, East said. The bottle struck and injured her right hand.

The man and a second person in the Cadillac left before officers arrived. She submitted the beer bottle and video taken with her cellphone as evidence.

Her 5-year-old son was with her when the incident occurred, according to a police report, but there is no indication he was hurt.
