How does Wichita State fare at the MVC Tournament in St. Louis?

Wichita State’s Fred VanVleet continued to pick up Missouri Valley Conference honors Wednesday, as he was named as head of the league’s Most Improved team.

VanVleet, a 5-foot-11 sophomore guard, was chosen conference Player of the Year on Tuesday. Also on the Most Improved team are Evansville sophomore D.J. Ballantine, Southern Illinois sophomore Anthony Beane, Northern Iowa sohpomore Matt Bohannon and junior Nate Buss, Drake senior Aaron Hawley, and Indiana State sophomore Khristian Smith.

Shocker junior Darius Carter received his second conference honor when he was named to the MVC All-Bench team. In his first season, Carter averages 8.3 points and 4.6 rebounds as a backup post player.

He joined Buss (captain), Smith, SIU sophomore Jalen Pendleton and Loyola sophomore Devon Turk on the bench team, voted on by MVC newspaper beat writers.
