Wichita police say they are investigating a report of an alleged rape at one of Wichita’s public schools.

Police received the report Tuesday, they said. The parents of the victim reported the allegation, according to a police document.

The case involves a report of a 15-year-old boy allegedly attacking a 13-year-old girl last year, said Capt. Doug Nolte. According to the report, the alleged assault occurred three months before it was reported to authorities.

Nolte wouldn’t say which school is involved. But police records show the address of North High School.

The reported assault occurred in one encounter sometime between Nov. 1 and Dec. 19, Nolte said. The Exploited and Missing Child Unit, which investigates child abuse and neglect cases, was notified, police reports show.

The alleged assault was reported to have occurred on school property, Nolte said.

Nothing had been reported to the Wichita school district, spokeswoman Susan Arensman said. “We are starting an investigation,” she said.
