Anthony Perdicaro scored the only goal in the shootout, giving Rapid City a 3-2 win over the Thunder on Tuesday night in Rapid City, S.D.

None of the five Thunder shooters were able to beat Rush goalie Tim Boron. Wichita keeper David Brown stopped the first three Rapid City shooters before Peridcaro’s successful attempt.

Both Thunder came on power plays. Thomas Klempa gave Wichita a 1-0 lead in the first period, and Jesse Dudas made it 2-1 with a his second-period goal.

Both Rapid City goals came in the second period. The second — the game’s only even-strength goal — was scored by Jared Bown at 15:07.

Both teams attempted 11 shots in the third period and five shots in overtime, but neither team was able to score.

The Thunder earned one point in the standings for the shootout loss and is five points behind Arizona in the battle for the final CHL playoff berth with 11 games remaining. Wichita’s next three games are at home, beginning Sunday against Rapid City. The Thunder ends the season with three games at Arizona.
