Water pipe break prompts move for Wednesday’s Metro Mingle

A water pipe break is forcing a change of venue for the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Metro Mingle on Wednesday.

The event is still at Newman University’s campus, but it will be in the De Mattias Fine Arts Center instead of the Dugan Gorges Conference Center. The time is still 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The chamber is notifying the event’s 21 exhibitors along with the nearly 200 people who indicated they plan to attend the event, where finalists will be named for the 2014 Small Business of the Year Award.

Angie Elliott, the chamber’s manager of business services, doesn’t expect the change of venue to be an issue. In an e-mail, she wrote:

“We’ve done this event for ten years and we always have a great group of applicants and attendees. They can mingle anywhere.”
