The state school board, House and Senate need to require all upper-level school administrators to perform anonymous classroom substitute duties 10 days a year. This way they might get an idea of what’s going on in the teachers’ classrooms and get a reality check.

Who is accountable for getting deadbeat dads to abide by court orders to pay child support? How many chances does a deadbeat get in five years? When do you lock them up? It seems the lawyers and judges don’t care that kids suffer.

Medical doctors are constantly held accountable for runaway health care costs. Meanwhile, remaining under the radar of public scrutiny, dentists are enjoying the omelet made from the golden-egg-laying geese.

Why can’t the United States keep its nose out of foreign wars?

Dozens of boys were murdered in a Nigerian school attack by Islamic extremists. How can such evil still exist today? We need to understand them and be prepared to defend ourselves.

House Bill 2453 invokes “sincerely held religious beliefs.” So did the guys flying the planes on Sept. 11, 2001.

I tried to assist a customer who seemed more determined to complain than to take steps to fix his problem. Imagine my surprise when I learned he was a tea party member.

The Koch brothers should quit funding the tea party, and give that money to WSU to buy a football team like OSU’s. Then WSU could join the Big 12 and Shocker fans could quit crying about KU and KSU not playing them. A win-win.

Why are WSU fans so focused on playing KU? Florida, Arizona and Syracuse are ranked higher.

I don’t want to hear people complaining about nowhere to park for a basketball game when WSU students have even fewer parking options if they choose to further their education past 3 p.m.

Jimmy Fallon is no Johnny Carson. Too bad NBC pulled Jay Leno off “The Tonight Show.” Now it’s just another stage for emphasizing liberal views to ages 20-49, encouraging a lesser work ethic, making negative jabs at Republicans and protecting the Obama folks.

I am appalled that KSN, Channel 3, did a piece on BTK. He should sit in solitary and have no ink to give him any kind of sense of notoriety.

Judging from the quality of the new comic strips in The Eagle, I’m guessing the real reason for changing had more to do with saving money than with popularity.
