Elwood the Couch Potato, a 7-year-old male Newfoundland-English setter mix, is available for adoption from Kansas Humane Society.

I’m just a big ol’ happy dog looking to spend some quality time with you. We could go on walks in the park or play fetch in the backyard. It really doesn't matter what we do, just as long as we’re spending time together. You should visit with me at KHS.

Also available:

• Duke the Busy Bee, 8-year-old male Labrador retriever mix

Oh boy, oh boy! Are we going on a walk? Spending time with you is my favorite thing. After the walk, we can snuggle up and watch a movie. That sounds like so much fun. You should visit with me at KHS right away.

• George the Personal Assistant, 9-year-old male cat, domestic shorthair mix

You know what’s great about having a personal assistant? I can remove all the busyness from your schedule and pencil you in for some cat cuddling. Doesn't that sound like fun? Visit with your new assistant at KHS right away.

• Harley the Leader of the Band, 3-year-old male cat, domestic shorthair mix

Hi, I’m Harley and I’m just a fun furball of love. Are you using that string? If not, I’d like to play with it. Oh boy, is that a shiny object? I’m going to play with that. Afterward, I’d like to lie down next to you. You should visit your best friend at KHS right away.

• Guiners the Guinea Pig, 2-year-old male purebred guinea pig

Hi, I’m Guiners. I’m a curious and fun-loving guy who would make a great pet for someone in an apartment or for a first-time pet owner. I love to be held and to run around in my cage. You should visit me at KHS today.
