A 30-year-old woman has been hospitalized following a house fire reported Thursday in the 1900 block of South Santa Fe, near Washington and Mount Vernon.

Emergency crews transported the woman to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis in critical condition, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said. She may have been trapped inside the house when the fire ignited, he said.

Law enforcement reported the fire to 911 at 6:17 p.m., the dispatch supervisor said. Firefighters arrived to see smoke and flames coming from the home.
