— Cape Girardeau police say two men were arrested after getting into a fight at a school play performed by kindergartners.

The Southeast Missourian reports that the fracas broke out Tuesday night in the Alma Schrader Elementary School gym. Thirty-six-year-old Ryan Steck and 38-year-old Kevin F. Alexander were later released and issued summonses for peace disturbance. One of the men was the stepfather of a child in the play. The other was his biological father.

Police spokesman Darin Hickey says the fight was broken up by two off-duty officers who were attending the play as parents.
