An Oklahoma man was killed Wednesday when his pickup smashed into a concrete bridge pillar along K-2 in Barber County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said in a crash report that Jerry J. Schoenahals, 54, of Shattuck, Okla., was traveling west when his GMC Sierra crossed the center line, left the road and hit the pillar less than 15 miles from the state line.

The crash happened around 3:20 p.m., according to the report. Schoenahals was the only person in the truck at the time.
