Spradling scores 1,000

K-State senior guard Will Spradling reached a milestone on Tuesday, reaching the 1,000-point mark as a college player. Spradling scored 10 points against Texas Tech. He is the 25th player in K-State to score 1,000 points.

Spradling downplayed the accomplishment.

"I wasn’t too worried about it," Spradling said. "I am not ever worried about how many points I put up. I would much rather win."

Weber passes Kruger

Bruce Weber has won more games than any coach in K-State history in his first two seasons. Weber is 46-14 with the Wildcats. Lon Kruger previously held the record with 45 victories in his first two seasons.

"I’m just excited for him to know he has done such a good job here," Spradling said. "Him coming in last year, for me, as a junior, I was just excited. He has done a great job."

Crowd gets warned

Texas Tech continued its streak of unflattering crowd incidents Tuesday, with school officials issuing multiple warnings to fans for throwing cups onto the floor. In its last home game, Texas Tech fans were warned about throwing tortillas on the court.

Earlier this season, Oklahoma State’s Marcus Smart shoved a Texas Tech fan in Lubbock on the baseline and was suspended three games as a result. The fan volunteered not to attend any more Texas Tech games, home or road, for the rest of the season.
