Auto Craft Collision Repair broke ground Tuesday on a 6,000-square-foot expansion of its 12,500-square-foot east-side location.
The east location at 8532 E. 32nd St. North has gotten so busy that cars in need of work have to either be transferred to another of the company’s locations or wait a week or two, said Jaden Randle, sales and marketing manager for the company.
The repair facility on 32nd North opened in 2000. The company now has five locations, two on the east side, two on the west side and one downtown.
Randle said the company will add a new high-end paint booth, six more repair bays, a parts room, customer parking and a customer service suite as part of the expansion project.
Because the east side location is so busy, Randle said, it made more sense to build new space to hold the new paint booth, rather than close down the store to replace the old paint booth.
“We have just been maxed out for the last three or four years,” Randle said.
The work should be done by late May, Randle said.
