Margo McDonald will lead AMS Laboratory

Margo McDonald has been named the new administrator for Via Christi’s Affiliated Medical Services Laboratory, according to a news release.

McDonald has worked for Via Christi about 28 years and has been senior director for the laboratory since 2001.

She replaces Ed Harned, who retired in January.

McDonald has a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from Texas A&M University and completed a medical technology internship at Methodist Hospital in Houston.

AMS was founded in 1983 and is the largest independent commercial reference laboratory in the state, according to the release.
