Winter returns to the Wichita area Tuesday, when highs will top out in the low 30s.

North winds will be in the teens, forecasters say, with gusts near 30 miles an hour. A chance of snow arrives Tuesday night, with a low near single digits. Winds will ease a bit, but still gust to nearly 30 miles an hour.

Wednesday should see a return of sunshine, forecasters say, and highs in the upper 30s. Winds will ease to single digits and switch from the north to the south.

Lows Wednesday night will settle in the low 20s under clear skies, and Thursday will warm up a bit. Highs are expected to climb into the low 40s under sunny skies.
