Remember, Mitt Romney said Sunday, if Hillary Clinton runs for president, it's not her husband who'd be on the ballot.

Romney, the Republicans' 2012 presidential nominee, said the party's 2016 White House contender should avoid blasting Bill Clinton for his affair with intern Monica Lewinsky.

While Clinton embarrassed the country with his behavior, Romney said,  "I don't think Bill Clinton is as relevant as Hillary Clinton if she decides to run for president."

Hillary Clinton, a former senator from New York and Secretary of State, "has her own record and her own vision."

When people look at Clinton, he said,  they will "look at her record as the secretary of state, and say, 'During that period of time, did our relations with nations around the world elevate America and elevate our interests, or were they receding?'"

Some conservatives, notably Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., have brought up Bill Clinton's sexual affairs, which led to his 1998 impeachment.

Move on, urged Romney. "I think Hillary Clinton if she becomes the nominee will have plenty to discuss about her own record," the former Massachusetts governor said. "I don't imagine that Bill Clinton will be a big part of it."

He also reiterated he won't be running again for president.  "I think by and large people who lose a presidential race, well, they step aside," he said.
