Ian Lowe scored in the sixth round of a shootout, giving the Thunder a 4-3 win over the Brampton Beast on Friday night in Brampton, Ontario.

The Thunder led 3-2 after two periods, thanks to a power-play foal by Jesse Dudas at 18:58 of the second period. Brampton tied the score with its own power-play goal at 9:17 of the third.

The Thunder twice erased one-goal deficits with RG Flath’s first-period goal and Erick Lizon’s score in the second.

In the shootout, Matt Summers connected in the second round to give Wichita a 1-0 lead. Brampton’s Andrew Fournier was successful in the third round, and neither team converted again until Lowe’s sixth-round shot.

The Beast outshot the Thunder 17-13 in the first period, then Brampton only got 13 shots on goal in the final 45 minutes.
