Police are investigating an aggravated robbery case in which they suspect a Wichita man was beaten Friday after being accused of failing to pay a bar tab.

Just after 2 a.m. a 37-year-old man visiting a bar near Mount Vernon and Grove, was confronted by several people, and accused of not paying a bill, Lt. Doug Nolte said.

The victim told police that he later woke up in the middle of Grove Street, missing some cash.

He suffered cuts to the head, Nolte said.
