A Fidelity Bank official said Wednesday the failure of a “key piece of hardware” has affected the bank’s online and mobile banking systems in Wichita and Oklahoma.

Fidelity Bank spokesman Al Sanchez said late Wednesday morning that he hoped the outage, which began late Monday, would be fixed and service fully restored by Wednesday evening.

He stressed that the outage was related to computer hardware. It is “not in anyway the result of a system breach,” he said. “No loss of data has ocurred and no confidential information was at risk.

He said customers who need to make transactions with the bank before the system is restored should visit a branch or call its customer service department at 316-265-2261.
