A Chicago trucker is facing criminal charges amid allegations he made sexual requests of an 11-year-old girl and exposed his genitals to another child Saturday in Wichita.

Pete H. Thomson, 49, is facing two counts of aggravated indecent solicitation of a child and one misdemeanor count of lewd and lascivious behavior, charges filed Tuesday in Sedgwick County District Court. A police report indicates the 11-year-old girl was the subject of “inappropriate sexual requests” by a man and that she was grabbed “by the waist when she attempted to leave.”

The man, the report continues, also reportedly “flashed his male genitalia” to another child that night.

Thomson was arrested shortly after midnight Sunday at 6815 W. Kellogg, police and jail booking records show. The address is that of a hotel.

Asked Tuesday during his first court appearance whether he understood the charges, Thomson told Sedgwick County District Court Judge Joe Kisner: “Yeah. I understand it’s not good. That’s for sure.”

Thomson is due back in court Feb. 25. He is being held in the Sedgwick County Jail on $100,000 bond.
