The armed man who came into a Family Dollar in east Wichita used something a little more unique than a ski mask to hide his face, police say.

He was wearing gray boxer shorts.

But no one in the store at 4930 E. 21st St. was laughing shortly after 8:30 p.m. Thursday, because he pointed a revolver at the clerk and threatened to shoot if they did not cooperate, a police document said. He left with a small amount of money, Wichita police Lt. Doug Nolte said.

There were two people in the store at the time of the robbery. They described the robber as a 35-year-old black man who was about 6 feet tall and had a medium build. He wore dark shoes, a blue hoody, black jacket and blue jeans.
