Another brutally cold day with dangerously cold wind chills is on tap for the Wichita area today, forecasters say, with the added bonus of perhaps some light snow to go with it.

Little accumulation is expected from this latest round of snow – perhaps a half-inch – but wind chills near -20 will be the most potent piece of the weather picture in the region.

After an overnight low of about 0, today’s high will barely make it above 10. North winds will be light, staying in the single digits.

Tonight’s low will dive back down toward 0 in Wichita, forecasters say, before Friday delivers another chance of snow and highs in the low 20s. Friday’s flurries could pile up, however, adding an inch or two to this week’s snowfall total.
