Free open house at the Cosmosphere

The Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center at 1100 N. Plum in Hutchinson is putting on its second annual free open house from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The event will include guided tours of the Hall of Space Museum, astronaut training experiences, a look at the Cosmosphere’s artifact collection, live science shows, and movies in the Carey Digital Dome at a reduced price. Westminster watch party

The Sedgwick County Animal Response Team is putting on a Westminster Dog Show watch “paw-ty” from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at Larry Bud’s West, 6200 W. 21st St. The event, a fundraiser, will include door prizes, Bingo and food specials. Admission is $10 at the door and includes a door prize ticket and a Bingo card. The restaurant also will be offering drink and food specials, including $1 tacos. Home show at Century II

The annual Home Show at Century II will allow home remodelers and builders a chance to check out new products from about 280 vendors and talk to experts. The show, which started on Thursday, runs through Sunday in all three halls of Century II. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Free parking is available at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium, with free shuttle buses to and from the show. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors, $3 for children, free for ages 6 and under.
