Volunteer Kansas Inc. has awarded a $34,500 grant to the Kansas Mentors program, which will allow nonprofit mentoring organizations in Kansas to conduct Kansas Bureau of Investigation background checks on potential mentors.


KMUW 89.1 FM and its Global Village world music show were recognized in the Public Radio Exchange Zeitfunk Awards in the categories of Most Licensed Station and Most Licensed Series.

MP2 Communications, a division of Servi-Tech in Dodge City, won three national and regional awards for its agriculture industry website, mp2.ag. The firm won a Platinum AVA Digital Media Award from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. It also received First Place Educational Website in the National Agri-Marketing Association Region II Best of NAMA awards, and First Place for Direct Mail for a series of DVDs and letters promoting the website.
